Orthognathic Surgery

Orthognathic Surgery-

When braces are not enough??

contentsurg.jpgOrthognathic surgery corrects deficiencies of facial jaw growth, allowing teeth and/or jaws to be placed in a more stable position. Often, these deficiencies cause difficulty associated with chewing, talking, sleeping and other routine activities. Orthognathic surgery in conjunction with orthodontic treatment corrects these problems and will improve the overall appearance and stability of jaws and teeth.

Orthognathic surgery may be necessary if orthodontic treatment cannot correct the problem through growth modification. Or in the case of adults, growth has stopped. We will determine if orthognathic surgery is the correct treatment option for you. We will refer you to an oral surgeon when necessary.
